When seats came back
87% of the drops we saw came in the final three days before the show. Part of that is because Pounce checks shows more often as their dates approach, so the fair measure is drops per 100 hours of checking. It shows the same pattern: the last 24 hours ran at 5.6 times the pace of 8 to 30 days out.
More than 30 days out we checked for only 8 hours in September, too few to give a rate.
By hour of the day
How many seats at a time
Drops are small: 65% were exactly 2 seats, and the median was 2. Seat counts are what we could confirm, so a drop can be bigger than we say, never smaller.
How fast they went
Of the 2,558 listings we saw come back, half were gone within 18 minutes, 73% within an hour and 99% within a day.
These are upper limits: a listing counts as gone at the first check that no longer finds it.

These follow the shows Pounce users tracked, so they show where we looked, not which tours had the most seats come back overall.

How we count
- A drop is one moment seats came back on a show Pounce was checking. Seat counts are what we could confirm, so they are a minimum.
- Which shows. Pounce checks the shows its users track, not every show. In September that was 57 shows, all sold on Ticketmaster in the US and Canada. Every drop was official Ticketmaster inventory, not resale.
- Gaps. Our data supplier sometimes can't see a listing. Those periods are left out of the speed figures, and a show with no drop may simply have had none we could see.
- Timing is drops per 100 hours of checking: an hour counts when we had at least one clean check of that show.
- Speed counts listings that appeared while we were checking and later disappeared, leaving out any that overlapped a gap. Times are upper limits.
- Prices. 99% of drops showed an all-in price, fees included.
- Dates and times are Eastern time; the month runs from September 1 to 30.
- No personal data. This report counts listings, not people.
